This Privacy Policy applies to the MeaVana Software, Website, Apps and Services. Please read it carefully. The User information we gather or process is used solely for providing MeaVana functionality and to improve the quality and security of the Services. Your information is not sold to third parties.

Privacy PolicyAccount Information

  1. Your name, email, account settings, and customization data (such as to-dos, bookmarks, screen layout, default displays, etc.) are collected, transferred and stored securely by us
  2. This information is used solely for your usage within MeaVana
  3. This information is not shared with any third parties, except as specified in this policy.

Privacy PolicyPayment Information

  1. If you purchase or subscribe to any Paid Services, your credit card number, credit card expiration date, security code, name, country and postal code are required
  2. All payment processing will be done through a PCI-compliant third party
  3. When paying by a credit card, your card details do not pass through our servers (they are sent directly to the payment services provider). When you subscribe to a Paid Service, upgrade your services, request changes to your Paid Services, or contact us with queries or requests about your Services (such as cancelling, refunding, or changing payment details), certain authorized members of MeaVana’s support team may view certain aspects of your payment-related information contained in the payment provider’s database through the dashboard they provide to us
  4. This is limited to billing name, billing address, postal code, the last four digits of credit card(s), and credit card expiry dates
  5. This information will only be accessed by us upon your request.

Privacy PolicyData Accessed through Web Extension APIs

  1. Web Extension APIs used within Chrome Extensions, Safari Extensions, Edge Add-ons, and Firefox Add-ons have well defined narrow permission levels that are enforced by the respective Web Browsers, that restrict the information MeaVana Software has access to within your Browser
  2. The MeaVana extension can only access specific information that you have explicitly granted permission for
  3. We cannot and do not track your browsing history
  4. MeaVana Software may request additional optional permissions when you enable specific MeaVana features
  5. When you enable a feature that requests an optional permission, your Web Browser will make it clear what permission(s) are being requested
  6. The feature will be accessible only if you choose to allow the requested permission(s).Your location information is accessed to provide MeaVana’s weather feature
  7. This information may be sent to our weather provider API to determine your closest weather station
  8. This information is not stored
  9. You can prevent your location and/or IP address from being sent directly to our third-party weather provider by turning off the Weather feature in your MeaVana “settings” menu
  10. Your bookmarks and most-visited websites information is accessed and stored solely for use in providing MeaVana’s bookmarks/ links feature.

Privacy PolicyFeature Usage Data

  1. We gather and log data on how our users access and use MeaVana in order to understand users’ preferences and to improve the content, features and overall experience of MeaVana
  2. For example, we may log actions like clicking on more information about a photo or a quote, liking or favoriting any content, utilizing the to-do list, clicking on the details about weather, etc
  3. Some of the usage data we collect is sent to Google Analytics in a de-identified manner (this means, no identifying information is sent that that could be linked to a User’s account)
  4. We also make use of Google Analytics’ IP anonymization feature to prevent your IP from being associated with your usage data.

Privacy Policy Third-Party Vendors and Sub-Processors

  1. MeaVana utilizes (and may in the future utilize other or additional) third-party vendors and sub-processors to perform various functions and specialized services
  2. User information may be shared with these third-parties to the extent required for them to perform their functions or to deliver their services
  3. Such third-parties have their own policies for how they protect and use User data
  4. MeaVana works only with industry standard third-party vendors and sub-processors who have transparent industry-standard policies with respect to protection and use of user data
  5. However, MeaVana does not control or have responsibility for the policies or practices of any third-parties
  6. MeaVana utilizes (or in the future may utilize):(i)Amazon’s AWS services for our cloud infrastructure;(ii) Google Analytics to understand the usage and performance of our Services, for which anonymized usage information that cannot be linked to a User’s IP address is shared with Google Analytics;(iii) Search engines such as Google and DuckDuckGo, to whom a call is made from your IP address to retrieve thumbnails for your links and bookmarks;(iv) Photo repositories such as Flickr, Unsplash and others, to whom a request is made from your IP address to download photos;(v) Video repositories such as Vimeo, YouTube and others, to whom a call is made from your IP address to load videos in connection with your visiting our Website or Apps;(vi) Third-party sign-in services offered by such as Google, Amazon, FaceBook and others, to whom a User’s sign-in data is sent when they sign in to their MeaVana account via such services;(vii) Internal communication and data sharing tools such as Gmail, Slack, Dropbox, Clickup, and others for internal MeaVana team communications during which user data may be discussed for support or internal analytics purposes;(viii) Payment processors such as Stripe, PayPal, and other PCI-compliant credit card processors or payment gateways, who collect and maintain credit card and user details related to payments;(ix) Specialized third-party services for which specific types of user data may be shared with the provider, such as Nolt (user data for feature requests), ZenDesk (user data for support purposes), Datadog (user data for third-party cloud monitoring services), and others;(x) Email services such as Mandrill, ActiveCampaign, MailChip, AWeber, Zapier and others, for sending transactional and marketing emails to Users – for which User data such as name, email address, and contents of emails may be sent to or through the third-party provider; and/or(xi) Affiliate marketing services such as First Promoter and others, for which affiliate program members’ email and other affiliate program details may be sent to the third-party service provider.The above list of the types of third-party vendors and sub-processors that are or may be utilized by MeaVana, and the types of user information that may be shared with them, is provided to give a transparent overview of how user information is or may be shared with third-parties
  7. MeaVana’s practices and third-party relationships in this regard conform to (and will in the future conform to) well accepted industry standard practices and providers.

Privacy PolicyData Security

  1. Data security is a high priority at all times
  2. MeaVana use a Tier 1 cloud provider to run its operations (Amazon’s AWS).All data communication in transit to and from MeaVana’s servers is secured using HTTPS/TLS
  3. All MeaVana domains have HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) enabled and are in the HSTS Preload list on the major browsers supporting this feature.All data in MeaVana’s databases and their associated backups are held in encrypted form.

Privacy PolicyDeletion of a User’s Account

  1. Upon deletion of a User’s account, the account is flagged as deleted and the User’s data is no longer accessible
  2. This data is stored for a grace period of 90 days to allow for account recovery in the case of accidental or malicious deletion, or the User’s desire to reopen their account
  3. At the end of the grace period, the data is hard deleted
  4. Upon request, a User can expedite the process of performing a “hard delete” to remove all of their personal data from MeaVana’s databases
  5. After a hard delete, all User data will be deleted from MeaVana’s system (although it could still be present in encrypted database backups for up to an additional 45 days)
  6. To request an expedited hard delete, please contact us.
